Set the leading of selected text

Leading options in the Property inspector

  1. Do one of the following:

    • In the Property inspector, drag the Leading pop-up slider or enter a value in the box. The default is 100%.

    • Using the keyboard, hold down Control (Windows) or Command (Mac OS) while pressing the Up Arrow key (to increase spacing) or the Down Arrow key (to decrease spacing).

      Hold down Shift and Control (Windows) or Shift and Command (Mac OS) while pressing the Up Arrow or Down Arrow keys to adjust leading by increments of 10.

  2. To change the type of leading unit, select % or px (pixels) from the Leading Units pop-up menu.
