Manage colors with the Color Palette panel
To open the Color Palette
panel, select Window > Others > Color Palette.
Find the nearest websafe color for any color valueClick the fill color box on the Selector tab of
the Color Palette panel.
To sample a color, use the eyedropper pointer to click anywhere
inside any Fireworks document window.
The nearest web safe
color is displayed below the color in the active fill color box.
Note: You can also use the Selector tab to convert colors
between color models such as RGB and CMYK and to select the mode
for displaying colors.
Create and swap color palettesSelect the Mixers tab in the Color Palette
panel.
Use the four fill color boxes at the bottom of the panel
to set the four base colors for your document.
If needed, use the HSB color wheel in the lower right corner
of the panel to modify the palette.
To try two different palettes in your document, click Palette2
on the left side of the panel, and then select the base colors for
the second palette.
To switch back and forth between the two palettes, click
the two Replace color icons.
Note: The swap palette
function replaces fills, strokes, and gradients in vector elements,
but not in bitmap elements or graphic symbols.
Export a paletteSelect the palette you want to export (either Palette
1 or Palette 2).
Click the Export As Bitmap icon to export the palette as
a bitmap file, or click the Export As Color Table icon to export
the palette as an ACT file.
Create a color gradation seriesSelect
the Blender tab in the Color Palette panel.
Use the fill color boxes at the bottom of the panel to select
the beginning and ending colors.
Use the Steps pop-up slider to select the number of steps
in the series.
Note: To see the hexadecimal value
of the color, place the pointer over any color swatch.
