Photoshop Import preferences
These
preferences determine how Fireworks behaves when you import or open Photoshop
files. For more information, see Working with Photoshop.
- Show Import Dialog Box
- Displays options when you import PSD files using the File >
Import command.
- Show Open Dialog Box
- Displays options when you drag PSD files into Fireworks or
use the File > Open command.
- Share Layers Between States
- Adds each imported layer to all states in the Fireworks file.
If this option is deselected, Fireworks adds each layer to a separate state.
This is useful when you import files you want to use as animations.
- Bitmap Images With Editable Effects
- Allows editing the effects on the bitmap images when importing.
Bitmap images cannot be edited.
- Flattened Bitmap Images
- Imports the bitmap images and their effects as flattened
images which cannot be edited.
- Editable Text
- Imports the text layers as editable text. You cannot change
the text formatting such as strikethrough, superscript, subscript,
and autohyphenation in Fireworks. Also, you cannot separate ligatures
in the source text.
- Flattened Bitmap Images
- Imports the text layers as flattened images that cannot be
edited.
- Editable Paths And Effects
- Allows editing on the shape layers and related effects.
- Flattened Bitmap Images
- Imports the shape layers as flattened images that cannot
be edited.
- Flattened Bitmap Images With Editable Effects
- Imports the shape layers as flattened images but allows editing
the effects associated with them.
- Layer Effects
- Replaces Photoshop Live Effects with similar Fireworks filters.
- Clipping Path Masks
- Rasterizes and removes clipping masks, maintaining their appearance.
Deselect this option if you want to edit these masks in Fireworks. However,
the appearance varies from Photoshop.
