Edit Director cast members in Fireworks

1. In Director, right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Mac OS) the graphic in the Cast window.

2. Select Launch External Editor from the pop-up menu.

   Note: To set Fireworks as the external editor for bitmap graphics, in Director, choose File > Preferences > Editors and set Fireworks.

   The file opens in Fireworks, and the top of the document window indicates that you are editing a file from Director.

3. Make changes and click Done when finished.

   Fireworks exports the new graphic to Director.

   Using launch-and-edit integration, you can change Director cast members by starting Fireworks to edit them from inside Director. You can also start Fireworks from inside Director to optimize cast members.

Start Fireworks from Director to preview optimization changes for selected cast members.

1. In Director, select the cast member in the Cast window and click Optimize in Fireworks on the Bitmap tab of the Property inspector.

2. In Fireworks, change the optimization settings.

3. Click Update when finished. If the MIX Editing dialog box appears, click Done.
