Save and reuse optimization settings

Fireworks remembers the last optimization settings you used after you perform any of the following actions:

  • File > Save

  • File > Save As

  • File > Save As

  • File > Export

Fireworks then applies these settings to new documents.

Note: New slices get their default optimization settings from the parent document.

You can also save custom optimization settings for future use in optimization or batch processing. The following information is saved in custom preset optimizations:

  • Settings and color table in the Optimize panel

  • State delay settings chosen in the States panel (for animations only)

Save optimization settings as a preset

Saved optimization settings appear at the bottom of the Settings pop-up menu in the Optimize panel and in the Property inspector. The preset file is saved in the Export Settings folder in your user-specific Fireworks configuration folder. For information on the location of this folder, see About user configuration files.

  1. From the Optimize panel Options menu, select Save Settings.

  2. Type a name for the optimization preset and click OK.

Share saved optimization settings with another Fireworks user

Copy the saved optimization preset file from the Export Settings folder to the same folder on another computer.

Note: The location of the Export Settings folder varies depending on your operating system.

Delete a custom preset optimization

You cannot delete a Fireworks preset optimization setting.

  1. In the Optimize panel Saved Settings pop-up menu, select an optimization setting.

  2. From the Optimize panel Options menu, select Delete Settings.
