Enter alternate text

Entering brief, meaningful alternate text (alt text) is important for the growing number of visually impaired people who use screen-reading applications. These applications read alternate text in a computer-generated voice when the user passes the pointer over graphics on a web page.

In the Property inspector, type the text in the Alt Text box.

Select slices or hotspots without alternate text

You can select the slices and hotspots for which you haven’t entered alternate text. You can then set a default alternate text for these objects.

Select Commands > Web > Select Blank ALT Text.

Set default alternate text

You can select the slices and hotspots for which you haven’t entered alternate text and set a default ALT text for all of them.

Select Commands > Web > Set ALT Text and enter the default alternate text.
